Kamla

In 2-acts, the play brilliantly forces us to rethink and self-reflect on our society’s often judgmental and sadly insincere attitude towards women through the characters of Kamla, a rural woman who falls prey to sex trafficking and abuse; Jaisingh Jadhav, an ambitious journalist who actually “buys her” in an attempt to expose the sex trade and exploitation, and Jaisingh’s supportive, yet docile wife, Sarita. This is very thought provoking and relevant topic that needs to be discussed every so often. Issues raised through the play are not to be forgotten.
